summer kids go

crazy busy fun day: amazing garage sale (tons of gorgeous vintage fabric), antique mall, cargo, anthropologie, scrap, the gorgeous lark press, then bbq with neighbors and badminton until dark.

to the list...

10. in college my nails were constantly painted some weird color (blue, black, green - hard to come by back then!) so now i never ever paint them

9. i have a thing for sweet / salty together. when i was little i'd eat oyster crackers and hawaiian punch like cereal

8. i'd also eat brown sugar chunks out of the bag

7. part of the reason i got into photography was because i could make out with my boyfriend in the empty darkroom (hehe)

6. i lived in denver for a summer and modeled for an issue of the local alterna-weekly. when the paper came out (about asian fashion) the only shot they had used of me i was holding a fan in front of my face. ha!

your turn! :)

ps - happy solstice!

just one of those things

wow, posts four days in a row, this has got to be a record for me. i hope these aren't getting too boring for you guys (especially since there's more to come, hehe).

also, that top pic is the big prize for monday: a brand new found paper journal crammed full of fun stuff: envelopes, old wallpaper, ledger pages, postcards, vintage catalog pages, photos, etc etc. 80+ pages, hardbound, elastic to keep all your fun stuff inside. these are the two i originally made, i used one when i went to europe (a cute page from it here). these are seriously one of my favorite things i've ever made, so don't forget to leave a comment with one thing about yourself to be entered in the drawing!

k, here we go...

15. growing up i took piano lessons for 7 years, clarinet for 4 and violin for 2.

14. in high school i passed out getting my ears (double) pierced at the mall (yeah, that wasn't embarrassing at all) yet a year later when i pierced my own ear with just an earring and an ice cube i was fine. ??

13. when i was little my favorite tv show was little house on the prairie, but when we played my sister always got to be laura because she had brown hair and i had to be poor blind mary cuz i was blonde.

12. i've never gotten a haircut i like (my hair is ridiculously thick) so at the most i get it cut once/year, which means i almost always have long hair.

11. after high school i went to a private mormon college for one year, came home and pierced my tongue, shaved my head and became a dirty hippie ;)

ps - wanted to give a special discount code to my awesome blog readers for 10% off your entire order at my shop valid for the rest of the month. just enter junebug at checkout. also, just listed another lovely found paper journal. enjoy!

somebody who knows me

seriously guys, these comments are so great. and not only am i getting to see who's reading my little blog, i get to learn a bit about you too!

so without further ado...

21. in sixth grade i thought i wanted to be a marine biologist, but then i figured out i really just liked the color blue

20. my feet are so ticklish that at my first (and last) pedicure i kicked the poor girl in the face

19. the summer after matt and i started dating we drove to ohio for hookahville (in a vw bus), oregon for a rainbow gathering and up to maine following phish. (we were what some might call "dirty hippies", haha)

18. i *hate* the taste of coffee, beer and wine

17. in high school we had to wear short shorts in gym all year long, so as soon as i graduated i promised myself i'd never shave my legs in winter again (and i haven't)

16. i've been told by dentists for 14 years now that i'm going to have to get my wisdom teeth removed "soon"

halfway there! keep leaving those great comments and i'll put your name in the drawing on monday - pics of the (imho) awesome prize tomorrow!

ps - the shot of my little house is for alice's cool project, i love how there are so many homes from all around the world

pps - just saw the fall, an amazingly gorgeous film worth checking out (in the theatre if possible!). see the beautiful trailer here
