wrapped in piano strings few words could open me but you knew them all

i made these lovely paper flags inspired by ozu yasujiro's gorgeous 1934 film ukikusa monogatari (story of floating weeds). they're made from old chinese books (one is dated 1925) and have no practical purpose other than to just look pretty. and they're now up in my shop!

tomorrow's the big day, turning 33 (ugh). weird. anyway, i'll have lots to share including a giveaway so make sure to stop by. hope you're having a great monday!

*edit* let's make tomorrow's post for wednesday :) see you then!

What an interesting idea; I haven't seen the film. I love the idea.

soooo gorgeous..these make me want to do a huge installation of them..
and see the film too..thank you.
oh,
and happy birthday sweetie!
(33 is sooo young..wait until you turn 40..now that's weird!)
:)

These flags are great! I haven't seen the Ozu film either, but I just read The Elegance of the Hedgehog in which they talk about his films a lot. I like that you made them with vintage books.

Happy Birthday! Hope it's a great one :o)

Happy Birthday!! (I stop by now and then and I heard over at Abby's it was your birthday). Hope it is a super one.

Did we know that we were exactly the same age?? I turned 33 yesterday too!
Weird! Happy Birthday :)

happy belated birthday! i always thought you were in your early 20's—you look SO young. :)
