she swings so cool and sways so gently
i've been feeling some online love lately, and i really appreciate it. the comments from my last post really mean a lot - it was such a weird experience but it feels good to have a few listening ears out there :)
last week guest-poster heather (of the gorgeous gathering spriggs blog) and holly from decor8 were kind enough to post about mushroom & moss vintage shop on last weeks etsy take five tuesday post. thanks so much ladies! and a few days ago my friend summer did a cute post about girls with cameras and included a shot of mine i'd nearly forgotten about. thanks summer!
i also wanted to share a few things that have been cheering me up lately. it's been rainy and gross for what feels like weeks here in portland, so at this point i'm looking for inspiration wherever i can find it: this beautiful video, the first cherries of the season, banksy's amazing, hilarious, thought-provoking movie exit through the gift shop (you can see the trailer here), totallylookslike.com, finally meeting sabrina ward harrison in person (and seeing her amazing art, and giving her some of my postcards and showing her my cute camera, because i am a huge dork :), fresh peach and strawberry smoothies, this adorable wire bird cage tutorial by julie collings, and this song (on itunes: garota de ipanema (single version) by joao gilberto & stan getz).
hope you're having an inspiring (if not sunny) week!
ps - i'm on the lookout for a new digital camera. don't need anything too fancy but i'd like something substantial with good depth of field. any thoughts or suggestions would be *greatly* appreciated!!

About cameras, I'm no expert, but i just got one, and I got a nikon D40, which is nikon's smallest and lightest DSLR, but they stopped selling them recently, so I got a deal by buying the body only from someone who was upgrading on ebay, and then just bought the lens I really wanted, because the kit lens isn't that great. Now I can get the depth of field I want and I didn't have to pay too much.
