she made her home in a broken tree

i'm waiting for some glue to dry in a pretty new mixed media piece i'm very excited about (hopefully will be sharing tomorrow!), so i thought i'd do a little post. that top photo is from the hoyt arboretum (appropriate for the first day of september, no? fall will be here soon!), and that gorgeous vintage bird box is my latest thrifty find ~ isn't it amazing? i just love to look at it...

i also thought i'd share a few links to blogs that have been inspiring me lately:
- pia jane bijkerk
- cafe cartolina (and the gorgeous shop here)
- the constant gatherer
- tiny happy
what's been inspiring you?
hope you're having a wonderful week!

ps - sweet kate let me know that tavi gave a speech recently where she mentioned my sassy poem and the amazing sassy community that is still going on today ~ you can watch it here :)

Cori - thank you for reminding me about Hoyt Arboretum. I haven't been there in such a long time, and fall is a perfect time to rediscover it.

Inspiring me lately are the sunflowers blooming outside my front door, the slight crispness in the air and anticipating changes - not only with the seasons, but with professional directions.

That photo of the maple leaves is lovely! It's totally helping me get into the fall mood.
:)
