doted on like seeds planted in rows
i haven't been blogging much because i think i set these unrealistic expectations for myself, that every time i post it has to be accompanied by amazing photos (hard to do when my digital is a piece of crap and i'm almost out of polaroid film) and have some insightful, deep content. well i decided in the case of my blog, i'd rather have quantity over quality (you know, as long as the quality doesn't suffer too much ;) because i really want to start posting more.
so here's random post #1 ~ my friend nicolle and i held a little crafty girls night at the park last week and i showed how to make my little 12 things i love about you notebooks, which inspired me to make and list a pretty summer version of the books. there's a limited number available here if you're interested.
also i get really stressed about listing stuff on my vintage shop, because i have so much stuff to put up and it's such a hassle to clean, photograph, edit photos and list stuff. so i decided i'm going to start listing stuff just a few (or even one) at a time. my last update had 20 things and literally took me 8 hours to do. !! so today i listed that pretty wooden gazelle guy ~ if you just have to have him you can find him here.
two other things: i'm finally on pinterest! and *holy crap* it's amazing for saving and organizing images. and it keeps the original source! let me know if you're on it so i can see what you've pinned!
also, the talented pia jane bijkerk blogged one of my photos, and i'm so honored! pia wrote the gorgeous paris: made by hand book and is an amazing photographer and stylist. make sure to check out her blog, it's chock full of inspiration. thanks pia!!
hope you're having a beautiful week!
ps - i forgot the bottom picture! it's of one of my latest favorite thrifty finds ~ a beautiful vintage mug from goodwill for $2. the bottom says "moribana" which is the japanese art of flower arranging. ?! whatever, i *love* that mug :)

I like the idea of letting go of some of those high self-expectations and just allowing yourself to blog. And yay for Pinterest! Mine is here: http://pinterest.com/crystalesquivel/ :)
I've been reading your blog for awhile now - I for one would welcome more posts! Love your new mug too, so pretty!
Will you be hosting another crafty girls night (and are you open to fellow crafty portlanders attending)? I want to make a little notebook - so precious!

sweet ronit, we won't be making the little books again but i'll be sure to let you know when our next crafty night is!
sure torie! thanks so much for asking :)
I felt the same way about blogging for a long time - that it wasn't worth doing without the perfect photo, or if it didn't measure up to someone else's, or whatever, but then I realized that the only way to get better was to just do it, even if I look back one day and cringe.
