courage my love it makes me bolder

june! my favorite month, and not just because it's the month i was born in. it's the beginning of summer! strawberry shortcake, bike rides, leaving the windows open at night, frozen yogurt, wearing cute vintage dresses and sunglasses, mmm cherries mmmm, sunny evenings, eating outside, road trips... well sadly it's still drizzly and chilly here in portland, but this weekend there were a few hours of warm sun and we were able to spend it at the amazing international rose test garden ~ holy roses!

yes, i know, they're just roses, but when you have 4.5 acres and over 500 varieties (most of which were in bloom), well yeah, it's pretty cool. plus some of them have the greatest names: april in paris, brite eyes, lady x, sixteen candles, hot tamale, magic lantern, nearly wild, scarborough fair, warm and fuzzy, sheila's perfume (that one's for my mom), lunar mist and white lightnin'. just another reason i love living in portland (aka rose city).

hope you had a great weekend! just fyi i'll be going out of town friday and putting my handmade/print shop and mushroom & moss vintage shop on vacation mode starting tomorrow. and when i get back they'll both be restocked with tons of fun new stuff. i can't wait!

There's just something about roses that makes it impossible not to stop and take a picture.

I just love the names of roses, they are so fascinating! I always find roses that are growing on a bush so beautiful, and slightly less cliche then the typical red roses you see in bouquets.
