i love love (and paper)

there are currently little piles of paper hearts fluttering around my house like snowflakes (makes up for not having any real snow this winter) because i made a new batch of my paper heart flag garlands! just in time for valentine's day. these have been big sellers in the past and i only made a handful (mama free time is in short supply these days) so if you want one head on over to my shop. i also have some 12 things i love about you mini books (including a blue striped version) and let love in typewriter postcards. yay love!

little advent boxes

i got a burst of inspiration the other day and made a simple little advent calendar. i used matchboxes, vintage wrapping paper and contact paper, label stickers, a vintage date stamp for the numbers and found papers for the insides. easy peasy (in theory - 25 is a lot to make!).

i wanted to do a mix of "random acts of holiday kindness" and fun activities (i'm not really into sugar and little toys that we don't really need) so tonight i'll write up a list of 25 (oops, 23) things, print them out and cut strips to put in the boxes. i doubt we'll actually get around to doing one thing every day this year, but it'll be fun to at least start the tradition. and next year grey will be 2.5 so he'll probably be more into it.

hope you're having a lovely december so far!

vintage typewriter love

just wanted to share my latest just-for-me crafty project. i have way too many vintage typewriters so i thought i'd fancy one up a little. i used a pretty vintage-inspired fabric called "rosette" from fabric traditions (found at joann fabrics), a few small paintbrushes, scissors and a jar of acrylic gel medium. i basically just laid the fabric down, cut a little, glued a little, cut some more, glued some more... it was trickier than i thought it would be (those angles! ouch, my brain!) but i love how it turned out. hope you like it!

ps ~ i recently added some new rock collection mixed media pieces to my shop, they make great holiday gifts!
